Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak from Capcom is finally here on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. I played the expansion for review on PS5, Switch, and Steam. Read my review of the PS5 version here, PC version here, and Steam Deck performance review here. As with Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak introduced many new mechanics and features to the game. Many of these include quality of life improvements. Regardless of if you’re new to Monster Hunter or Monster Hunter Rise, this guide will help you out. For my Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Ruby and Gold Wirebug guide, I will cover the new wirebugs, skills, abilities, and boosts you get.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak new Wirebugs
In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, two new Wirebugs have been introduced. They spawn in multiple locations across the maps and server to help you with Wirebug recovery, Silkbind attack power, but most importantly with Wyvern Riding. The two new Wirebugs are Ruby and Gold.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Ruby Wirebug explained
The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Ruby Wirebug increases a monster’s attack power during Wyvern Riding. If you’re planning on mounting a monster to do damage to your quest target, try and collect one of these on the way. They are temporary, and give you increased mounted punisher damage, make it easier to initiate Wyvern Riding, and faster Wirebug gauge recovery. Check them both out in action in the video clip below:
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gold Wirebug explained
The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gold Wirebug increases a monster’s material drops during Wyvern Riding attacks. If you’re planning on farming a monster through Wyvern Riding, this is worth grabbing beforehand. They are temporary, and give you increased monster material drops from Wyvern Riding, make it easier to initiate Wyvern Riding, and faster Wirebug gauge recovery.
Note that you cannot use Gold and Ruby Wirebugs at the same time. One will overwrite the other.
Hopefully this Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Ruby and Gold Wirebug guide helps elevate your Wyvern Riding experience in Sunbreak by saving you time farming, and helping you do more damage to monsters in quests.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch, and Steam worldwide.
Update: This guide has been updated for the PS5, PS4, and Xbox releases of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.
