It called it one of the better Switch exclusives of 2022 in my review which you can read <a href=https://themakoreactor.com/"https:////themakoreactor.com//reviews//dragon-quest-treasures-switch-review-performance-visuals-charm//45382///">here.<\/a> I was always planning to review Dragon Quest Treasures on Steam Deck, but was surprised to see it get confirmed as Steam Deck Verified by Valve for its launch. The graphics options let you adjust anti-aliasing (four levels), ambient occlusion (three levels), shadow detail (low, medium, high), texture filtering (low, medium, high), texture detail (low, medium, high), foliage density (five levels), LOD (five settings), toggle screen space reflections, and toggle bloom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dragon Quest Treasures display settings let you change window mode (fullscreen, windowed, borderless), adjust resolution from 720p to 4K, adjust frame rate cap (30, 60, 90, 120, 144, and uncapped), toggle v-sync, brightness, and toggle subtitles. It has correct button prompts depending on the input method as well. On the controller side, you can either use Xbox or PlayStation button prompts. This can be adjusted from the control options. You can also rebind controls and keyboard keys in Dragon Quest Treasures on PC. Setting Dragon Quest Treasures to the low preset resulted in about 80fps or above. The highest preset sees the game run at above 30fps, but 60fps isn&#8217;t doable at this setting. The medium preset will result in 60fps gameplay though. To push things as much as possible, I set it to 1440p and max settings on Steam Deck over the Steam Deck Docking Station and had about 15 to 20fps gameplay. Obviously this isn&#8217;t playable, but I just did it to see how low the frame rate would go. Dragon Quest Treasures on Steam Deck is the best portable version of the game for sure. I don&#8217;t regret the time I put into the Switch version (with over 50 hours in last I checked), but if you have the option to play on Steam Deck, that&#8217;s the way to go. I loved my time with it on Switch despite the issues, and have enjoyed revisiting it with much better performance and visuals on Steam Deck thanks to this new port. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dragon Quest Treasures on Switch felt like a long-lost 3DS gem that had all the charm from an older Dragon Quest game. On Steam Deck, it is much smoother and a better experience overall. If you already played it, there isn&#8217;t anything new here, but I&#8217;m glad Dragon Quest Treasures on PC is such a great experience out of the box on Steam Deck. If you held off on the Nintendo Switch version and enjoyed the demo there, this is an easy recommendation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dragon Quest Treasures is out now for Nintendo Switch and <a href=https://themakoreactor.com/"https:////store.steampowered.com//app//2021210//DRAGON_QUEST_TREASURES///">PC via Steam<\/a> worldwide.
